Tensor threads

As skin ages, it sags and loses its tone. The installation of tensor threads, a very effective method of aesthetic medicine, helps to combat this phenomenon.

What are tensor threads?

The tensor threads are small notched threads, successors to the gold threads. Implanted in the thickness of the skin, they restore tension, while causing retraction of distended tissues. In addition, they stimulate the skin's natural production of collagen. As a result, tension threads are very effective. Like a tutor, they restore the volume of the skin while promoting natural long-term rejuvenation. This type of treatment allows complete care of the patient. It can also be complementary to a surgical facelift, or serve as an alternative, if it is contraindicated.

What are the indications?

Tightening threads help restore different areas of the body:

The angle of the neck. This mobile area is very affected by wear wrinkles.

Jowls, which appear with the natural decline in collagen levels due to aging.

The oval of the face. The tensor threads allow it to be optimized by straightening the cheekbones and chin.

The arms. This indication is due to the fact that surgical facelift is often traumatic for the arms: keloid scars, independent of the surgeon's talent, are often the result of such a procedure.

What does the treatment consist of?

The installation of tensor threads is a medical procedure, not a surgical procedure. It does not require incision of the skin and does not leave scars. It is therefore a question of placing these notched threads using a cannula, a fine needle with a round tip, in the opposite direction of the movement that the tissues follow under the effect of weight and aging. There are two types of tensor threads:

Absorbable threads, composed of polylactic acid (also found in absorbable stitches). They provide total support for the skin, which they lift while stimulating collagen production. This procedure is effective without being invasive, because the threads disappear on their own, are biocompatible and hypoallergenic.

Semi or non-absorbable threads. They offer the same advantages as non-absorbable sutures, except that the traction effect on the skin lasts much longer.

The practice is minimally invasive and does not require social eviction. However, it is contraindicated in the following cases:

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you suffer from an autoimmune disease.

If you are taking anticoagulants and anti-inflammatories.

Patient care

An initial consultation first takes place with Doctor Lavillenie, in order to study the needs of your skin and to ensure that the procedure is not contraindicated. Once a diagnosis is made, a treatment plan will be determined.

The session takes place as follows: after having disinfected the skin, the practitioner places the threads in the determined areas using a fine needle. An anesthetic cream can be applied to prevent the slightest pain.

A follow-up consultation will take place within six months to monitor the treatment and prevent the appearance of side effects.

The results produced by the tensor threads

Tightening threads have an optimal effect in restoring the quality of the skin. They straighten it while facilitating its natural rejuvenation. The middle third of the face will be re-tensioned, and you will find the triangle of youth as the profile is redefined and the chin asserts itself.

After around ten days, the thread can be felt through the skin. This demonstrates its effectiveness: the production of collagen increases the diameter of the thread, making it more resistant. Results last approximately one year, which is the lifespan of the thread.

The excess skin obtained after tensioning can give a wrinkled appearance to the face; the skin shrinks in the days that follow.

Some post-act advice

It is recommended not to touch the face, especially the jaw and mandible, after installation. Chewing and mouth opening should also be limited. Without this, the threads may break before they can settle into the skin.
